Teafatiller in court on drunken driving charge

Nebraska tight end Hunter Teafatiller was in court Wednesday on a second-offense DUI charge.
Teafatiller pleaded not guilty and was set to return to court Aug. 18.
He was stopped June 1 at 1:16 a.m. for speeding on Interstate 180, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. He pulled over at 11th Street and Cornhusker Highway and was given a sobriety test.
Spokeswoman Deb Collins said the trooper arrested Teafatiller after measuring his blood alcohol level at 0.20. The legal limit in Nebraska is 0.08.
In 2007, Teafatiller was arrested twice on suspicion of drunken driving within a three-month period. He was not prosecuted in the first case. He pleaded guilty in the second case, and was fined $400, sentenced to nine months probation and had his driver’s license impounded for 60 days.
Prosecutors are alleging Teafatiller violated that probation with the latest incident.
Teafatiller, a senior, played in 11 games in 2007 and finished with four receptions for 34 yards. His best game came early in the season against Wake Forest, when he caught three passes for 21 yards. For his career, he has caught nine passes for 112 yards.
