Police arrested five teenagers allegedly involved in the robbery of a Dairy Queen Wednesday night, including a 16-year-old employee of the restaurant.

Three female employees opened the back door of the business at 614 N. 66th St. around 10:50 p.m. for a smoke break and encountered three people wearing bandannas who allegedly ran at them, said Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood.

One of the suspects allegedly threatened the employees with a knife, she said, and the other two allegedly held the employees down. The suspects took an undetermined amount of money.

Officers, with the help of a police dog, found one of the suspects in the area, and through an investigation police determined one of the employees knew the suspects and allegedly had set up the robbery, Flood said.

Police eventually arrested Tanesha Lucht, 18, 741 Sumner St., Joseph Haase, 18, 205 Garber Ave., and a 14-year-old boy suspected of carrying the knife on suspicion of robbery, said Capt. Jim Thoms.

Janae Haleem, 19, 911 S. 11th St., who allegedly drove the getaway car, and the 16-year-old employee who allegedly planned the crime were arrested on suspicion of accessory to robbery, Thoms said.
