Husker women alive for NCAA golf berth
By the Lincoln Journal Star
Nebraska sophomore JC Stevenson, a Grand Island graduate, moved into a tie for 11th and helped the Huskers stay in the hunt for one of the top eight spots at the NCAA Women’s Golf Central Regional in Austin, Texas.
Nebraska shot a second-round 306 and is eighth with a 600 total.
The top eight teams from each of the three NCAA Regionals advance to the 24-team NCAA Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., May 20-23.
The Huskers made their last appearance in NCAA Championships in 2006.
“We didn’t play as well today as we did on Thursday, but we are still in position to advance heading into the final round,” coach Robin Krapfl said. “JC played some great golf today to give us a great score and keep us in the hunt for one of those top eight spots."
